Seeing as Big Sur has been out half a year, I'm a little amazed that this is Ableton's position after all this time. Perhaps between them getting Live 11 out the door and the Pandemic, it's hurt their ability to do testing. Does anyone know the status of Ableton Live on the new MacOS Big Sur and if there's been any work done on bringing Live to work natively on the brand new Apple silicon, M1? What is Ableton Live?
Ableton Live lets you easily create, produce and perform music within one intuitive interface. Live keeps everything in sync and works in real-time, so you can play and modify your musical ideas without interrupting the creative flow.
Live comes with a versatile collection of instruments, sounds, kits and loops for creating any kind of music and provides a full complement of effects to tweak and process your sound.

Installation on a Windows PC
Unzip the file and run setup.msi. Then open Live and follow the instructions there. If you want to uninstall the trial at any point, you can find help here.

You can install the trial next to your current version. Your library will not be overwritten or altered.

Ableton Live
Is Live 11 supported on Apple silicon / M1 computers?
Yes, Live 11 is compatible with Apple silicon computers through Rosetta 2.
A Live license is registered to a single user and can be installed on up to two of their computers. Read the full license policy.
If you already have a Live license you will see your personalized discounted upgrade pricing in the Ableton shop. Make sure you are logged into the Ableton user account where your license is registered.
If you are a student or teacher that is enrolled or teaching for a minimum of 20 hours a week, you can see discounted pricing at our educational shop.
You will see the payment methods available in your cart during checkout.
As long as you are logged into your user account when buying Live, your serial number will be automatically registered. You'll then be able to download the installer from your account.
